Homeschool world series

WELCOME!

Hi everyone!

We are excited about the week ahead of us in Florida and wanted to pass along some important information about some of the exciting things in store.   As the “veteran” parents of the team we have so enjoyed each of the Homeschool World Series we have been privileged to be a part of.  It will be the highlight of the year, for sure!  Looking forward to watching our boys play next week!

I will try to make this as brief as possible but in doing so there will be many bullet points so please be sure to read each.  We have some events planned and we will update the times as we get our game times set. 

FUN FACTS

-There are 19 teams competing from around the country (more here: https://www.hwsa.net/tournament/)

-We will have 57 members in the Thunder Nation contingency 

SCHEDULE

-Sunday, April 28th:  A welcome ice cream social will be held at the VanYohe’s house (673 Copeland Dr Haines City FL 33844) 8:30-10 pm.  Bring your own drinks.  The team will be practicing at the fields and the coaches will have a meeting so they will arrive around 9-9:15.  

-Monday, April 29th:  Opening Ceremonies (usually 9 am) and Round Robin play to set division play for the week

-Tuesday, April 30th: Day 2 of play

TEAM COOKOUT at Coaches’ Home @ 509 Pineloch Dr Haines City FL 33844 (Time TBD based on game times) **A separate email will be sent tomorrow with sign up list

-Wednesday, May 1st:  Scheduled day off (weather permitting—may be used as make up day)

-Thursday, May 2nd: Day 3, Division play

-Friday, May 3rd: Day 4, Division play

PIZZA PARTY @ Wood’s home 520 Pineloch Dr Haines City FL 33844 (Time TBD based on game schedule) 

-Saturday, May 4th: Day 5, championship division finals and awards ceremony

REMINDERS 

Each home is fully equipped with essentials but some of these items are not enough for the week or are not included:

*dishwasher/laundry detergent

*no water filters in house—bottled is best

*paper towels

*coffee filters

*trash bags/ziplocs

*hand soap for each bathroom
