High School
General Information
The Thunder High School Program will be fielding Varsity and JV teams for the 2022 Spring season. Practices will be held at the Memorial Ashford Little League complex (Field 1), 12900 Westmere Drive, Houston TX 77077.
The High School Program provides young men 14-18 years old the opportunity to compete against homeschool, private and public school teams from around the Houston area. Players must try out and earn a roster spot. Playing time is not guaranteed nor necessarily equal between all players. The coaching staff configures the rosters and lineups to provide the team the best opportunity for success. Having said that, the High School Program is not "win at all costs" and will strive to improve the ability and skills of each player. For players looking to play beyond High School, the Thunder has seen a number of its Alum play at the next level.
At the end of the Spring season, the Thunder sends a team to the Homeschool World Series in Auburndale, Florida. The roster is usually comprised mainly of Varsity players, but it is not unheard of for a JV player to be selected based on his play during the season.
