Bat Rules

One of the most frequently asked questions that we receive is in regards to which bats may be used while playing for the West Houston Thunder.  The answer varies by team - please see below.

• Elementary Minor American and Minor National- all bats must meet the USABat Standard and have a barrel diameter no greater than 2 5/8", as mandated by Little League Baseball. 

• Middle School JV - all bats must meet either the USABat Standard or be BBCOR Certified and have a barrel diameter no greater than 2 5/8", as mandated by Little League Baseball. 

• Middle School Varsity - all bats must meet either the USSSA (-5 min) or be BBCOR Certified and have a barrel diameter no greater than 2 5/8", as mandated by the National Federation of State High School Association.

• High School JV and High School Varsity - all bats must be BBCOR Certified and have a barrel diameter no greater than 2 5/8", as mandated by the National Federation of State High School Association.
